The UROC Atlantic ProNationals invaded North Eastern Pennsylvania?s Paragon Adventure Park last weekend. Reports of inclement weather didn?t slow the competitors or their fans. Saturday had a great turnout and the weather held out all day. The rocks were still a bit wet making for some slick conditions, but that didn't stop the competitors from going all out.

There was no lack of entertainment with Rock Spider Racing?s John Boring starting the carnage early, rolling in his first obstacle. After changing out the spark pulls, Boring was back in action without missing an obstacle. The action never stopped and by days end we had seen flops and breaks from a number of competitors including an endo from Randy Torbett and a rear suspension collapse from Bigelow Motorsports' Doug Bigelow, resulting in the rig needing to be extracted by a backhoe. Saturday?s competition was tight with less than 10 points separating the top three in the Super class and six competitors within 50 point. The Modified and Stock classes also were in tight competition with the top three separated by 30 and 40 points respectively.

Sunday was wet and wild from the beginning. Rain poured down soaking the rocks which quickly became traitorous. After getting his rig back together Saturday, Doug Bigelow's rear suspension blew apart on his first obstacle, prematurely ending his weekend. George Negron gave fan both the biggest thrill and scare of the day as he went barrel rolling down Obstacle 2, his first obstacle of the morning. George was shaken, but was able to drive the rig back to the trailer. Not to be outdone, Modified class leader Chris May had a nice roll of his own on Obstacle 4. After spending some time at the BFG support trailer, his rig was back together and ready to go for the shootout. Day 1 leader Charlie Melchner brushed a cone on Obstacle 3, costing him 10 points and the Super class lead going into the shootout.

Due to weather, the shootout consisted solely of one course per class. While the shootout was full of great crawling, including a lesson in rear steer given by Badlands Offroad?s Jesse Haines on his third bonus line, the standings saw no real change as Brad Styles reversed through the end gate picking up the Super Class win by just 4 points. Chris May picked up the Modified title and Chuck Henning walked away with the Stock Class win.
